1. Safety instructions
Safe operation of this equipment is guaranteed
as long as it is used as stipulated. Safety cannot,
however, be guaranteed if it is handled incorrectly
or carelessly.
Use the equipment in dry rooms only.
Do not operate the motor at any voltage ex-
ceeding 12 V DC
2. Description
The geared motor allows experiments to be car-
ried
out
using
the
solar
energy
SEK
(1017731/1017732) which involve raising loads
of up to 1 kg via its pulley and thereby demon-
strating conversion of electrical energy into me-
chanical energy. It is connected to the solar en-
ergy SEK board as an external load for this pur-
pose.
Only DC voltages not exceeding 12 V DC may be
applied to its electrical connection sockets.
3. Operation
Attach strings to the pulley as illustrated in
Fig. 1, otherwise the turns of the string may
not line up neatly next to one another.
Do this by making a small loop at one end of
the string, looping it around the bottom screw
of the pulley.
Then wind the string once around the second
screw and allow it to hang downwards.
