Your wise choice of using smoke detector HS-103 is greatly appreciated. Please read the 
operation instruction before using it, and keep the instruction after reading.

1.      Summary:

The smoke detector operates on the principle that infrared light scatters in the smoke 
which is generated by the imperfect combustion during the initial stage of a fire. It 
consists of a photoelectric system, a signal processing identification circuit and an 
alarm circuit. The infrared light scatters on the surface of the smoke particles when the 
smoke enters the dark interior of the detector. Next the photoelectric diode receives 
the scattered light and generates the photo electric signal current. The photoelectrical 
signal initiates the alarm signal after being processed by the identification circuit. The 
product HS-103 has a special design, is modern and fashionable, small and artistic, and 
is user friendly.

3.     Operation:

A) Remove the mounting plate from the back of the detector and insert the 9V battery.
B) Press the test button for a few seconds for the detector to sound. When you

hear the alarm sound, please release the button (The alarm sounds two to three 
times, and then stops automatically). It is now established that the smoke detector 
is in normal working order. (If the alarm fails to operate correctly, it is advised to 
contact your seller/manufacturer).

C) Fit the smoke detector with two screws (included in the package of the detector)

at the right location (for instance the ceiling).
