Door Watch System™ relies on wireless technology which is subject to physical and environmental 

considerations.  These products do not have an out of range function and as such should be tested 

periodically in the setting in which they are to be used to understand their area of effective operation.  

Wireless systems and monitors are intended as an adjunct to good caregiving practices and are not 

a substitute for proper staffing and patient management practices.  We recommend that all person-

nel receive periodic training in the operation of these systems and that the systems are tested before 

each use.

The Smart Caregiver Corporation Door Watch System™  is designed to be installed by the end-user. 

As such, it is the entire responsibility of the buyer to insure that the system is properly installed and 

tested. Further, the system is not designed to replace good care giving practices including, but not 

limited to:
a.) Direct patient supervision
b.) Adequate training for staff personnel for elopement
c.) Testing of the system before each use.

WHERE PERMISSIBLE, IT IS THE SELLER’S INTENT TO LIMIT ANY LIABILITY FOR SPECIAL, CONSEQUEN-

TIAL OR INCIDENTAL ECONOMIC DAMAGES TO REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OR REPLACEMENT

• Remove tabs on double-sided tape and 

adhere door bar vertically to the handle side of 

the door. 

• Use on non-metal door frames is recommend-

ed for best performance.

 Instructions

CONNECT AC ADAPTER

• Plug AC adapter into the wall.

• Connect door monitor plug, into AC adapter.

• The door bar will will light up and beep to indi-

cate monitor is activated.

ACTIVATE WRISTBANDS

• Place orange Caregiver Key™ (patent pending) 

between 3 & 6 o’clock of the rounded, notch 

side of the resident wristband. 

•Wristband light will blink 3 times to indicate 

that it is on

TURNING OFF ALARM

• To deactivate an alarming Door Monitor place 

the Caregiver Key™ (patent pending) over the 

blue circle sticker on the actual door bar.

• Once the active alarm has been silenced wait 

20 seconds or until red light flashes again before 

the door re-arms itself.

Step 4

TEST SYSTEM

•Test the range of the door monitors sensor 

field by approaching the door monitor, with a 

resident wristband, from all different directions, 

making sure the alarm goes off from desired 

distances. 

• To change the range of the door monitors sen-

sor field call for technical support.
