INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including:

Ensure that the voltage on the rating label
corresponds with the mains voltage in your home.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to
persons, do not immerse the cord, plug or kettle in
water or any other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is
used by or near children.
Unplug from the wall outlet when not in use and
before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or
plug, after a malfunction or if the appliance has been
damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the
nearest service facility for examination, repair or
adjustment.
This appliance is only to be used with the power base
provided.
Always operate the power base and kettle on a dry,
level and firm surface.
Do not use outdoors
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the work
surface.
Do not place on or near a hot gas burner or electric
stove or in a heated oven.
Only use the appliance for its intended use.
Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the
boiling cycle.
This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
Never overfill as it may eject boiling water
Always ensure that the element is covered with water
To reduce the risk of electrical hazards, it is
recommended not to use an extension cord or plug
adaptor.
Do not cover.
Never attempt to open any part or dismantle the
controls. Responsibility for failure cannot be accepted
if this instruction has been ignored.

how to use
Adjust the length of the power cord by hooking the excess under the power base.
Turn on the COLD water tap and let it run for a few seconds before filling the kettle.
NEVER fill the kettle with any liquid other than water.
The kettle may be filled through the spout or with the lid open.
Place the kettle beneath the tap and fill. NEVER fill past the MAX mark
CAUTION: Never fill the kettle while it is connected to the power base.
Close the lid making sure that it is firmly in place.
Place the kettle onto the power base ensuring that it sits snugly on the base.
Plug the cord into a 230V outlet away from hot or heated surfaces.
Press the ON/OFF switch up. The water will start heating and the kettle will switch off automatically when the water
boils returning the switch to the OFF position.
If required, the water may be brought back to boil by waiting 10 to 20 seconds and then pressing the switch up again.
