Use with Ford vehicles Pre-wired with a 12 Pin data cable 

 

  NOTES: 

 

Use FRDF/PC-POD2 if not pre-wired.  

 

Use FRDN/PC-POD2 if not pre-wired. 

 

Use FRD03/PC-POD2 if not pre-wired. 

 

Connectors at headunit will need to be verified to determine compatibility 

 

Use FRDN/PC-POD2 if headunit has a 16 & 20 Pin port. 

 

Use FRD03/PC-POD2 if headunit has a 16 & 24 Pin port.  

  

Use with one of the following iPods: 

 

 

mini      G3      G4      nano (G1, G2, G3, G4, G5)    video      color      photo 

classic (G1, G2, G3)      iPhone (2G, 3G, 3GS, 4G)      touch (G1, G2, G3) 

 

The FRDW/PC-POD2 will utilize the CD Changer controls of the radio to control the iPod in the following manner:

NOTE: Track number on both radio and iPod may not correspond with one another. 

 

The FRDW/PC-POD2 will charge the iPod and will not disable the functions of the iPod while connected.  The FRDW/PC-
POD2 will automatically pause the iPod whenever the radio is not in the simulated iPod mode.  

 

 

INSTALLATION:

 

 
CAUTION:  BEFORE ANY CONNECTIONS ARE MADE, PIE STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT ALL CIRCUITS BE 
VERIFIED WITH A VOLTMETER BEFORE INTERFACING WITH THEM.  ALWAYS SET THE PARKING BRAKE 
BEFORE WORKING ON ANY VEHICLE. 
 
DO NOT

 force connectors together as pin damage may occur.  This installation will be flawless if you take your time 

making the connections described below. Following the installation sequence below is critical to ensure proper recognition 
of the iPod by the factory radio. 
 
1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 
2. Locate 

factory 

pre-wired 12-Pin data cable. 

3.  Connect the FRDW/PC-POD2 to the pre-wired 12-Pin data cable. 
4.  Route the iPod dock cable from the FRDW/PC-POD2 to the desired location. 

5. 

Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

 

 

VERIFY OPERATION: 

 

1.  Connect iPod to dock connector. 
2.  Turn radio on and press the CD Changer button. 
3.  Perform basic control test (Song up/down, FF/RW, etc) from the radio. 
4.  Perform control test on iPod (Playlist select, Random, Artist Search, Album Search, etc.) 
5.  Verify that the iPod is charging while the radio is turned on. 
6.  Change modes (AM, FM, CD, etc.).  Verify that the iPod pauses while in the other modes.  

7. 

Turn radio off and verify that the iPod shuts off also.
