PELICAN 9430 USER MANUAL
Mast Operation
1.
Lift the LED head fully upwards then slide the mast down to lock into the mount
2.
Pull the lever on the black locking clamp, lift the head upwards and snap the lever back into place
3.
To collapse the mast, reverse the procedure
Light Operation
1.
Press keypad once for full power
2.
Press again for low power
3.
Press again to switch off
Power Indication
Green = >50%
Orange = 10 – 50%
Red = <10%
Auxiliary Power
The product is equipped with a 12V auxiliary output, via the cigarette socket on the rear of the light housing. The
internal fuse rating is 6.3A.
Flash Mode
1.
Press and hold keypad for 3 seconds then the LED Head will flash
2.
Press keypad again to switch off
Low Battery Warning
Before the light turns off, the LED head will flash every 10 minutes to let the user know that the battery voltage is low.
The warning period starts 30 minutes before there is insufficient voltage to power the light.
During this period, the power from the auxiliary (cigarette) socket will not be available.
Battery Charging
Warning – Do not operate the 9430 RALS with the charger connected.
1.
Insert the charger plug into the mating socket on the rear of the light housing and twist the locking collar to secure
the plug.
2.
Attach the charger to the mains power supply until the LED on the charger turns green.
Charge Cycle Indication
1.
Yellow = Charging
2.
Green = Fully Charged / Trickle Charge
Battery Replacement
Contact your dealer for a replacement battery. To replace, follow the instructions included with the new battery
Environmental
At the end of its technical life, the sealed lead battery should be sent
to a suitable recycling center or returned to the point of purchase.

Most battery issues arise from improper handling of batteries, and particularly from the use of damaged or
counterfeit batteries. Please review the information below to avoid serious injury and/or damage to your property.
Rechargeable Batteries
» DO NOT mix old and new batteries.
» DO NOT mix battery brands/types.
» When replacing batteries, replace all batteries at the same time.
» DO NOT open batteries.
» DO NOT dispose of in fire.
» DO NOT heat above 75°C.
» DO NOT expose batteries to water.
» Insert batteries correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -) marked on the
battery and equipment.
» DO NOT use batteries beyond their expiration date.
» Hazardous location safety approvals for explosive environments are only valid for the Pelican battery pack that is
supplied with the flashlight.
» For replacement battery packs only use the approved Pelican battery pack for the model of the flashlight that
you are using. The use of other battery packs will reduce the performance of the flashlight, exposure the user or
others to serious injury and invalidate the safety approval.
» Flashlights should only be charged in a non-hazardous location.
» Flashlights should only be charged using the Pelican charger base that is supplied with the flashlight.
» Flashlights should be charged and operated between the temperatures shown in the table below:

» DO NOT charge rechargeable alkaline batteries while they are still in the flashlight. Charging the alkaline
batteries while they are still in the flashlight can cause internal gas or heat generation resulting in venting,
explosion or possibly fire which could cause serious injury or property damage.
» Deep discharge* of the rechargeable battery may cause batteries to vent potentially dangerous gasses and
electrolytes.
» It is advisable to condition* batteries every 3 months. Failure to do so will decrease battery life. Leaving the
product unused for long periods of time will decrease battery life. Withdrawal of the charger from the product prior
to a ‘READY’ indication will result in inadequate charge.
» WARNING - DO NOT use Ni-MH rechargeable battery packs for longer than 3 years or 500 charge/discharge
cycles, whichever comes first. Using the Ni-MH rechargeable battery packs for longer than 3 years or 500
charge/discharge cycles will reduce the performance of the flashlight and expose the user to serious injury or
property damage.

Battery Recycling
ALWAYS dispose of batteries properly at an approved battery recycling center. Failure to do so can be a crime and
can lead to the release of harmful toxic materials. Pelican has partnered with Call 2 Recycle in the US and Canada to
dispose of recyclable batteries. Call 1-800-822-8837 to find a battery recycling center near you.

* Deep Discharge: The battery has been allowed to discharge most of its capacity to a point beyond which irreparable
damage has occurred. See battery specifications for the specific levels.
* Condition a Battery: Charge your battery to the fullest and then disconnect from charger. Let your light run until it
completely drains the battery and turns itself off. Place the light back onto its charger and completely recharge the
battery before using it. This conditioning or “cycling” of the battery will help it retain a fuller charge for a longer
period of time.

Funcionamiento del mástil
1.

Alimentación auxiliar
El producto cuenta con una salida auxiliar de 12 V que se puede conectar al encendedor del vehículo y que se
encuentra situada en la parte posterior de la carcasa de la linterna. La intensidad nominal del fusible interno es de
6,3 A.
Modo intermitente
1.
Mantenga pulsada la tecla durante 3 segundos y el cabezal del LED parpadeará

Pulse de nuevo la tecla para apagar la unidad
Aviso de nivel bajo de batería
Antes de que la linterna se apague, el cabezal de LED parpadeará cada 10 minutos para avisar al usuario de que la
tensión de la batería es baja. El periodo de advertencia se inicia 30 minutos antes de que la tensión sea insuficiente
para alimentar la unidad.
Durante este periodo, la alimentación eléctrica procedente de la toma auxiliar (encendedor del vehículo) no estará
disponible.
Recarga de la batería
Advertencia – No trabaje con la unidad 9430 RALS con el cargador conectado.
1.
Introduzca el conector del cargador en la toma de conexión de la parte posterior de la carcasa de la linterna y gire
el anillo de bloqueo para fijarlo.
2.
Conecte el cargador a la red eléctrica hasta que el LED del cargador se ilumine en verde.
Indicación del ciclo de carga
1.
Amarillo = En proceso de carga
2.
Verde = Totalmente cargada / modo de carga lenta
Sustitución de las baterías
Póngase en contacto con su distribuidor para conseguir una batería de repuesto.Para sustituir la batería, siga las
instrucciones incluidas con la nueva batería.
Medio ambiente
La batería de plomo sellada se debería enviar a un centro de reciclaje o devolverla en el punto de compra.

Baterías Recargables
» NO mezclar pilas antiguas con pilas nuevas.
» NO mezclar pilas de distinta marca o tipo.
» Cuando se vaya a sustituir las pilas, sustituir todas al mismo tiempo.
» NO abrir las pilas.
» NO tirar las pilas al fuego.
» NO someter las pilas a más de 75 °C.
» NO exponer las pilas al agua.
» Introducir las pilas correctamente siguiendo la polaridad (+ y -) indicada en la pila y en el equipo.
» NO usar pilas que estén caducadas.
» Los certificados de seguridad en zonas peligrosas para entornos con riesgo de explosión solo son válidos para
las baterías Pelican que se suministran con la linterna.
» Para cambiar los paquetes de baterías utilizar únicamente las baterías Pelican homologadas para el modelo de
linterna correspondiente. El uso de cualquier otro tipo de baterías puede afectar al rendimiento de la linterna y
exponer al usuario a lesiones graves, y anula el certificado de seguridad.
» No recargar las baterías en zonas peligrosas.
» Las baterías solo se deben recargar con el cargador Pelican que se suministra con la linterna.
» Las linternas deben cargarse y utilizarse respetando el rango de temperaturas que figura a continuación:

» NO cargar las pilas alcalinas recargables mientras estén en la linterna. Cargar las pilas alcalinas mientras están
en la linterna podría generar gas o calor, lo que podría provocar una fuga, una explosión o incluso un incendio, y
causar graves lesiones personales o daños en el producto.
» Si las baterías recargables se descargan en exceso* pueden originar fugas de gases y electrolitos peligrosos.
» Se recomienda realizar un mantenimiento* de las pilas cada 3 meses. En caso de no hacerse, la vida útil de
la pila disminuirá. No utilizar el producto durante largos periodos de tiempo hará que disminuya la vida útil de
la batería. Retirar el cargador del producto antes de que aparezca la indicación ‘LISTO’ resultará en una carga
inadecuada.
» ADVERTENCIA: NO usar baterías recargables de Ni-MH durante más de 3 años o 500 ciclos de carga/
descarga, lo que ocurra primero. Usar las baterías recargables de Ni-MH durante más de 3 años o 500 ciclos de
carga/descarga hará que disminuya el rendimiento de la linterna y podrá exponer al usuario a lesiones graves o
producir daños en el producto.

Reciclaje de pilas y baterías
Al final de su vida útil, las pilas y las baterías se deben depositar SIEMPRE en un centro de reciclaje homologado.
No hacerlo puede comportar un delito y provocar la liberación de materiales tóxicos nocivos. Pelican se ha asociado
con Call2Recycle en EE. UU. y Canadá para desechar las pilas y baterías reciclables. Llama al 1-800-822-8837 para

* Descarga excesiva: La batería se ha descargado hasta tal punto que se ha producido un daño irreparable. Consulta
las especificaciones de la batería para conocer los niveles concretos.
* Realizar el mantenimiento de una pila: Carga la batería al máximo y luego desconéctala del cargador. Deja la
linterna encendida hasta que se agote por completo la batería y se apague sola. Vuelve a colocar la linterna en el
cargador y recarga completamente la batería antes de usarla. Este mantenimiento o “ciclo” de la batería ayudará a
mantener una carga más completa durante un periodo de tiempo más largo.
