Focusing

1

Look through the eyepiece to see the reticle (Fig. 1).

2

Point the objective end of the fieldscope at the sky (do NOT

point it at the sun) or at a plain unpatterned wall.

3

Turn the eyepiece adjustment counter-clockwise and then turn

it clockwise until the reticle appears sharp.

Using the MONARCH MEP-30/ integrated FS-MRAD or FS-MOA

reticle

The MONARCH 30× MEP eyepiece with FS-MRAD or FS-MOA reticle can be fitted to straight or angled body 82mm or 60mm MONARCH
Fieldscopes. The 30× magnification in 82mm Fieldscope bodies and 24× magnification in 60mm Fieldscope bodies provide fast target
acquisition as well as excellent image resolution, color and contrast.
When used alongside any riflescope with corresponding MRAD or MOA hashmark reticle and turrets, this eyepiece becomes a useful tool
for shot corrections, range estimation, target speed estimation, and especially for shooter/spotter team communications. The reticle can
also be used to measure animals/horns/antlers and other subjects at known distances.
In the FS-MRAD reticle, both the main targeting reticle and the highly detailed milling scale in the lower right quadrant of the viewing
field are calibrated in MRADs (or fractions thereof) for quick referencing and easy measurement calculations. The separate milling scale
provides measurement detail down to 0.1 MRAD without cluttering the main targeting reticle. In the FS-MOA reticle, both the main
targeting reticle and the milling scale are calibrated in MOA, with the milling scale providing measurement detail down to 0.5 MOA.

Using MONARCH MEP-30 Fieldscope Eyepiece with FS-MRAD or

FS-MOA as a tool for spotter/shooter communication

Fitting a MONARCH Fieldscope with this eyepiece and integral MRAD or MOA reticle allows a spotter to rapidly locate and focus on the
same specific target his counterpart, the shooter, sees through a riflescope with corresponding MRAD or MOA reticle. The increased
magnification of the Fieldscope enables the spotter to get a highly detailed view of the target. Because the riflescope and Fieldscope have
similar precision targeting reticles, the spotter and shooter can communicate exact distance information and reference points to each
other and the shooter can make needed corrections without taking eyes off the target. The spotter also has the finely calibrated milling
scale within the Fieldscope eyepiece to enable highly detailed measurements for extremely accurate shot correction instruction.
