VERY IMPORTANT: Do not connect OkyWeb3 to computer before installing software
This is a USB device and must be installed according to procedure. Failure to follow these
procedures will cause serious communication issues between the software and the player. The
warranty does not cover returns based on issues where the user has ignored this advice.
About the power supply:
USA customers - wall plug provided is either Australian/Euro socket. We
recommend
Radio Shack Model #
273-1770 set to 9 volts
. Cost
has been factored into price so you do not
pay more for the player. Please ensure the specifications are correct to avoid cancelling the warranty.
Compact Flash Card:
Do not exceed 1GB card. We recommend Kodak or SanDisk from a reputable
retailer. We suggest purchasing an extra 2 x 1GB compact flash cards as backups.
INSTALL SOFTWARE
Step 1: Install software before connecting OkyWeb3 to computer
1. Install the latest OkyWeb3 Operating software from the CD. Run SETUP.EXE. Install the program and
accept all default values and be sure to click all ‘Continue’ buttons when installing USB drivers.

Reboot the PC

Connect OkyWeb3 to the computer via the included USB cable and power up.
(Note) turn OkyWeb3 on and off by holding the STOP button for a few seconds
Step 2: Installing the USB drivers
Having installed the software, rebooted and with OkyWeb3 connected to a USB port, the hardware
wizard should detect and install the USB drivers for this device. Allow Windows to automatically
find and install the drivers.
During installation of the USB drivers, alert boxes may appear on screen warning you about
‘unsigned drivers’ or ‘viruses’. If any warnings about installing unsigned drivers or viruses etc,
appear on the screen, it is perfectly safe to ignore them. Press ‘
CONTINUE’
to complete the
installation process. Do not interrupt the installation of this critical step – press YES or OK wherever
prompted. Always connect OkyWeb3, to the same USB port.
Updating Firmware
Power up OkyWeb3 and watch the lcd screen. Latest firmware version is
1.14
(01 March 2007). If
this version appears then update is not required. You will receive an email when new firmware
versions are released.
