DESCRIPTION
Lighting control is a primary consideration for both residential and commercial interior design. Also, energy conservation has become a major issue for many
applications. The Leviton Decora line of lighting controls are designed with these ideas in mind. Some applications include indoor and outdoor lighting, office
lights, etc. Energy is saved with these Timers since lights or other types of loads will shut OFF automatically according to the setting on the Timer.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This device is not intended for use on electronic ballasts.
•
This device is suitable for single-pole or 3-way applications.
•
Installing this device requires experience with residential and commercial wiring practices. Confirm that all circuit wiring complies with local codes and
ordinances. Failure to follow instructions exactly may permanently damage the unit, expose you to dangerous voltages and void all warranties stated
and/or implied.
•
The Timer’s memory is protected by correctly installed batteries. The Timer will continue to operate for up to 48 hours in the event of a power failure.
When power is restored, the Timer will operate automatically in accordance with the preset time schedule. The Timer can operate without batteries
when power is ON.
FEATURES (FIG. 1)
Function slide switch: Located below the Timer’s touch pad. Controls OFF, manual, and auto modes.
OFF: Power to the switch and the Timer is disconnected when the Timer is set to the OFF mode.
MAN: In the MAN (manual) mode the switch is powered. ON/OFF switching can be controlled by pressing the lower
half of the Timer touch pad.
AUTO: In this mode, the Timer follows the programmed switching cycle according to the preset instructions
(see
“Operation”).
LED: A Green LED glows above the Timer touch pad while in the AUTO mode. Program status may be overridden
manually within the current hourly increment by pressing the Timer touch pad.

CAUTION:
USE THIS DEVICE WITH COPPER OR COPPER CLAD WIRE ONLY. WITH ALUMINUM WIRE USE ONLY DEVICES MARKED CO/ALR OR CU/AL.
1. TURN OFF POWER.
2. Remove insulation from circuit conductors to expose 5/8" (1.6 cm) bare copper.
3. Remove pre-cut insulation sleeves on each Timer switch lead to expose bare wire strands.
4. Single Pole Installation (Dia. 1): Disconnect circuit conductors from existing single-pole switch and remove old switch, if applicable. Insulate end of
Yellow lead. Proceed to step #5.
3-Way Installation (Dia. 2):
NOTE: Only one traveler is required for 3-Way application.
Disconnect circuit conductors from one of the existing 3-way switches and remove old switch, if applicable. Connect conductor from the 3-Way switch
common terminal (usually Black screw) to Yellow lead. Connect (1) traveler conductor (from Brass screw on the 3-Way switch) and the conductor from
the lamp's center contact to the Blue lead. Insulate unused traveler in the wall box with the Timer. Disconnect and insulate unused traveler in the
wallbox switch with the 3-Way switch.
5. Connect wires per appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM as follows: Twist strands of each separate wire tightly together with circuit conductor and push firmly
into appropriate wire connector. Screw connectors on clockwise making sure that no bare copper shows below the wire connectors. Secure each wire
connector with electrical tape.
6. Mount device “TOP” up using screws provided. Attach wallplate.
7. Slide function switch to OFF position.
8. Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.
OPERATION
1. Remove the Timer’s touch pad using a small blade screwdriver, nail file, pen knife or similar object. Insert it into the space located at the bottom of the
touch pad cover and lift up.
2. The 14 numbered DIP switches should be visible. Each switch has an ON (right) and OFF (left) position representing one-hour time
segments (Fig. 2). Counting begins when the function switch is moved from the OFF position.
3. Schedule a switching program (up to 14 hours) by moving each DIP switch into an ON or OFF position, starting with switch 1 located
at the bottom of the row (Fig. 2).
FOR EXAMPLE: If the lights are desired to turn ON for 3 hours, OFF for 4 hours and ON again for 3 hours, set the switches as follows:
Slide DIP switches 1 thru 3 to the ON position, 4 thru 7 to the OFF position, 8-10 to the ON position, and 11 thru 14 to the OFF position (Fig. 2).
4. The Timer will respond automatically to the programmed instructions every 60 minutes when the function switch is in the AUTO mode.
At the end of the 14 hour program, the Timer will turn the light OFF until the original start time is reached after 24 hours. The switch
will continue to operate in this manner until the function switch is moved to the MAN or OFF modes.
NOTES:
•
To activate the program (on the first day only), the function switch should be set to the OFF position for two seconds, then set to the
AUTO mode to begin the programmed switching cycle.
•
If the function switch is in the MAN mode at the time the program is desired to start, switching to AUTO without first switching to OFF,
will resume the AUTO function for the remainder of the previous program start time.

LIMITED FIVE YEAR WARRANTY AND EXCLUSIONS
Leviton warrants to the original consumer purchaser and not for the
benefit of anyone else that this product at the time of its sale by Leviton
is free of normal and proper use for five years from the purchase date.
Leviton’s only obligation is to correct such defects by repair or
replacement, at its option, if within such five year period the product is
returned prepaid, with proof of purchase date, and a description of the
problem to
Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc., Att: Quality Assurance
Department, 59-25 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, New York 11362-
2591.
This warranty excludes and there is disclaimed liability for labor
for removal of this product or reinstallation. This warranty is void if this
product is installed improperly or in an improper environment, overloaded,
misused, opened, abused, or altered in any manner, or is not used under
normal operating conditions or not in accordance with any labels or
instructions. There are no other or implied warranties of any kind,
including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, but if any
implied warranty is required by the applicable jurisdiction, the duration
of any such implied warranty, including merchantability and fitness for a
particular purpose, is limited to five years. Leviton is not liable for
incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages, including without
limitation, damage to, or loss of use of, any equipment, lost sales or
profits or delay or failure to perform this warranty obligation. The remedies
provided herein are the exclusive remedies under this warranty, whether
based on contract, tort or otherwise.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Batteries should be replaced every 12 - 18 months, more frequently in areas where power interruptions are common.
1. TURN OFF POWER.
2. Use a small blade screwdriver, nail file, pen knife or similar object to remove the Timer’s touch pad.
3. Using the same tool, gently pry off the battery cover plate. Replace the batteries “+” side facing up.
4. Push battery cover firmly back into place and replace touch pad.
5. Restart the Timer after battery replacement. Refer to “Operation” section.

d’éclairage de la gamme Decora de Leviton sont offertes pour commander l’éclairage extérieur, intérieur, de bureau, etc. Ces interrupteurs permettent
d’économiser l’énergie en éteignant automatiquement les charges leur étant raccordées selon les réglages programmés.

RENSEIGNEMENTS GÉNÉRAUX

Ce dispositif n’est pas conçu pour les ballasts électroniques.

CARACTÉRISTIQUES (ill.1)
Bouton de fonction : situé sous la touche de l’interrupteur, ce bouton permet de sélectionner trois modes de
fonctionnement : mise hors tension (OFF), mode manuel ou mode automatique.
Mise hors tension : lorsque le bouton et réglé à cette position, l’alimentation à l’interrupteur est coupée.
Mode manuel : réglé à cette position, l’interrupteur est alimenté et peut être utilisé pour effectuer la commande manuelle à
partir de sa touche.
Mode automatique : réglé à cette position, l’interrupteur fonctionne selon les cycles de commutation préréglés (se
reporter aux directives décrites à la section (Fonctionnement»).
Témoin: un témoin Vert s’allume au-dessus de la touche en mode automatique (on peut outrepasser la
programmation de la tranche horaire en cours en appuyant sur la touche).

MISE EN GARDE :

1. COUPER LE COURANT.
2. Dénuder les fils du circuit sur environ 1,6 cm (0,63 po).
3. Retirer la gaine isolante pré-entaillée des fils de l’interrupteur de manière à exposer les brins de cuivre.
4. Application unipolaire (sch. 1) : le cas échéant, défaire les raccords de l’interrupteur existant et dénuder les fils du circuit. Couvrir le fil Jaune d'un
serrefil. Passer à l’étape 5.
Application à trois voies (sch. 2) :
REMARQUE : l’installation sur un circuit à trois voies requiert un seul fil itinèrant.
Le cas échéant, défaire les raccords d’un des deux interrupteurs existants et le retirer. Raccorder le conducteur de la borne commune (habituellement noire) de
l’interrupteur à trois voies au fil de sortie jaune. Raccorder l'un des fils itinérants (borne laiton de l'interrupteur à trois voies) et le conducteur du contact central
de la lampe au fil de sortie bleu. Isoler le fil itinérant inutilisé dans la boîte de l’interrupteur-minuterie.
Défairer et isoler le fil itinérant inutilisé dans boîte de l’interrupteur à trois voies.
5. Raccorder les fils conformément au schéma de câblage approprié et de la façon suivante : Torsader solidement ensemble les brins de
tchaque connexion et enfoncer fermement le raccord dans un serre-fils de calibre approprié, en tournant ce dernier vers la droite et en
s’assurant qu’aucun brin de cuivre ne soit exposé. Protéger les raccords au moyen de ruban isolant. Couvrir tout fil inutilisé d’une marret.
6. Fixer le dispositif au moyen des vis fournies en prenant soin d’orienter la marque “TOP” vers le haut. Fixer la plaque murale.
7. Régler le bouton de fonction à la position hors tension (OFF).
8. Rétablir le courant au fusible ou au disjoncteur; L’INSTALLATION EST TERMINÉE.
FONCTIONNEMENT
1. Retirer la touche de l’interrupteur au moyen d’un petit tournevis, d’une lime à ongle, d’un couteau de poche ou d’un autre objet de ce type
en en insérant la pointe dans la fente située au bas de la touche et en soulevant cette dernière.
2. Une fois la plaque retirée, on trouve les 14 commutateurs «DIP». Chacun d’eux représente une heure et peut être déplacé vers la droite
(sous tension) ou vers la gauche (hors tension). Pour activer la minuterie, déplacer le bouton de fonction vers la droite (ON) (se reporter à l’Ill. 2).
EXCLUSIONS ET GARANTIE LIMITÉE DE 5 ANS
Leviton garantit au premier acheteur, et uniquement au crédit du dit acheteur,
que ce produit ne présente ni défauts de fabrication ni défauts de matériaux
au moment de sa vente par Leviton, et n’en présentera pas tant qu’il est
utilisé de façon normale et adéquate, pendant une période de 5 ans suivant
la date d’achat. La seule obligation de Leviton sera de corriger les dits défauts
en réparant ou en remplaçant le produit défectueux si ce dernier est retourné
port payé, accompagné d’une preuve de la date d’achat, avant la fin de la
dite période de 5 ans, à la

Par cette garantie, Leviton exclut et
décline toute responsabilité envers les frais de main d’oeuvre encourus

s’il a été surchargé, incorrectement utilisé, ouvert, employé de façon abusive
