General Description:
The Electro-Voice TL880DM and TL440M
subwoofers are part of the EV Matinee series of
loudspeakers for cinema. The direct-radiating
design provides excellent very- low-frequency
reproduction along with the percussiveness desired
for many effects so prevalent in today’s digital
soundtracks.
The TL880DM, with its dual-woofer design, uses
the EV18-S 18-in (381-mm) woofer in a direct-
radiating, Thiele-Small vented enclosure, providing
high efficiency and low distortion. The TL880DM
has a 27HZ low-frequency cutoff point for rich,
deep, very-low-frequency reproduction. The
TL440M uses a single-woofer design and also has
a 27 Hz cutoff.
The enclosure is constructed from a wood
composite and has a black matte finish.
Connections are made via a barrier strip on the side
of the cabinet for easy access behind the screen.
The Matinee product line includes screen systems
and surround loudspeakers that provide excellent,
matched performance for use in small to medium
sized theatres..
