PROFAN-4

3 in 1 Bathroom Heater, 4x275W heat lamp. White finish.

Thank you for purchasing your new LED PROFAN-4, Please take the time to read and understand the instruction sheet below. Failure

to do so may void warranty.

CAUTION - DO NOT START INSTALLATION UNTIL THE FOLLOWING POINTS ARE REVIEWED:

• The unit MUST NOT be installed directly above a shower or bathtub, or anywhere that the unit may be in contact with direct splashing

of water.

• Before commencing any cutting, check in the ceiling space that there are no obstructions such as ceiling joists and that there is

sufficient height clearance (at least 220mm) for the housing. Check that the electrical wiring can be routed from the wall switches to

the mounting location.

• Ceiling insulation should be kept well clear of the unit and all ducting equipment.

• The PROFAN unit is designed for installation in flat ceilings only. Do NOT mount on a sloping ceiling or a vertical wall.

Safety Precautions

• This product must only be used in a bathroom application as described in this Instruction Manual. Any other application or use is not

recommended by the manufacturer, and may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

• Check with the local council for regulations regarding installation of exhaust fans.

• Ensure the power is OFF before installation.

• When cutting into the ceiling material, care must be taken to ensure you do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.

• The heater must be properly earthed/grounded.

• The heat lamps are extremely hot when in use. Do not touch the heat lamps with any part of your body when in use. Allow all lamps

to cool sufficiently before touching or replacement of the heat lamps.

• For the purpose of avoiding any fumes leaking into your bathroom, the duct for the heater must not be laid together with ducts for

air-fuelled water heaters or other open-fire appliances.

• Power cable used for wiring must be rated for a minimum 10A load.

Functional Performance And Guidelines Of The Profan Unit

• The Infrared lamps are not designed to heat the entire room area. The lamps provide warmth and instant heat directly below the unit.

• We recommend to install the PROFAN unit above the area where ‘drying off’ usually occurs.

• The PROFAN unit is not been designed for extended periods of operation, as this could cause overheating and premature failure. For

prolonged use of the heat lamps, if the internal temperature of the unit reaches over 90°C, the exhaust fan will come on automatically

to prevent the unit from overheating.

• For the exhaust fan to work efficiently, the volume of airflow needs to be equivalent to what is being extracted and must be able

to enter the room. Air is mostly drawn from under the door, or through a slightly open window. If the room is airtight, the fan will

function poorly.

Installation Instructions

1.  The PROFAN unit has been designed for use on ceilings between 2.4 and 2.7m in height.

2.  The unit may be installed between joists using the built in clips. Alternatively the unit can be installed against a joist using a screw

through the flange plate.

3.  Disassemble the unit before installation. Remove the heat lamps from the unit. Simply unscrew them counter clockwise. Unfasten

the fascia-retaining springs inside the housing. Unplug the LED panel at the connector and remove the fascia.

4.  Mark the ceiling with a pencil outline 430mm x 270mm, and cut out a hole in the ceiling at the chosen area. Make sure a distance

between the edges and wall is no less than 400mm. There should be a minimum 220mm clearance above the unit.

5.  Before commencing any cutting, check in the ceiling space that there are no obstructions such as ceiling joists, cables or pipes.

6.  Insert the unit into the square hole, ensuring that the side springs are pulled inwards so that the unit can pass through the hole,

without damaging the plaster.

7.  Securely fix the unit with the clips, and if required, additional screws can be used to assist unit retention in the ceiling. NB: Screw

holes are provided in the flange for this purpose.

8.  Re-assembly is the opposite of dis-assembly.

9.  For installation where external venting is required or is your choice, select a suitable location in either the roof or exterior wall to

vent out the exhausted air/steam and cut out a 155mm hole.
