Thank you for purchasing our digital scale (XS-40). With normal care and proper treatment, this scale will
provide years of reliable service.
General Maintenance and Care
1. Avoid exposure to extreme heat or cold. Also avoid any kind of moisture. Always allow your scale to
acclimate to normal room temperature before use.
2. Keep your scale in a clean and dry environment. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents and proximity
to other electronic equipment may have an adverse effect on the accuracy and reliability of the scale.
3. Handle the scale with care. Gently apply all items to be weighed on the tray top. Although this scale is
designed to be quite durable, avoid rough treatment, as this may permanently damage the internal parts.
Always avoid shaking and dropping. This is a precision instrument and should be handled with extreme care.

Operation
1. P
ress “ON/OFF” key to turn on the scale or power it off. LCD will show “8888” and then “0.0”. The scale is
ready to weigh.
2. Place the object to be weighed on the weighing hook.
3. Once the weight has stabilized, the LCD will display
“HOLD”.
4. The weight will remain on the display for several seconds after the item is removed from the strap. To re-
zero the scale, press ON/OFF key.

Changing the Unit of Measure
1. Press ON/OFF key to turn the scale on, when the display shows
“8888”, immediately y press and hold the
ON/OFF key till
“lb” or “kg” is displayed. Press ON/OFF key again to change the unit.
2. After some seconds the scale will be ready for weigh by display
“0.0”.
Tare Function
1. Turn on the scale as described above. Wait until zero is displayed.
2. Place the “tare item” onto the strap and wait for scale to stabilize (“HOLD” will be displayed).
3. Press ON/OFF key,
“0.0” will be displayed.
4. You can now add new items onto the tare item.
5. Once the weight has stabilized, the LCD will display
“HOLD”. The display will show the weight of the new
item only.
Calibration Function
1. P
ress “ON/OFF” key to turn on the scale. When the display show “8888”, immediately press “ON/OFF”
key for 4~5 times and hold the last press. Then the display shows an inner code. Release the button.
2. Press
“ON/OFF” key again. The display will show “CAL” and then “20kg”.
3. Place a 20 kg weight on the hook. Then the LCD displays
“PASS”. Calibration is complete.
