Warning

Product description

Note:

•  The width adjuster (air controller) should not be used when igniting the torch.
•  When used at high altitudes the torch may experience problems working with the flame

length adjuster set to maximum [ + ]. For best results it is recommended that the adjuster
is set half way between [ + ] and [ − ].

Switching off

The flame will extinguish when the ignition button is released.

Continuous flame

Caution:

Be very careful when using the gas torch in continuous mode because the flame will stay lit
until the switch (2) is pushed down by hand.

Keep the torch out of the reach of children.

Never store the torch at temperatures above 40 °C. Never leave the torch in
direct sunlight or in places which could reach high temperatures.

The torch must only be used in well-ventilated areas and well away from
combustible materials and liquids.

Caution!

•  Do not use the torch as a cigarette lighter.
•

Caution:

Contains extremely flammable gas under pressure.

•  Only refill with butane gas.
•  Avoid breathing the fumes from soldering or other heating projects. Ensure that the working

area is well ventilated.

•  The flame of the torch is very hot and can burn you; make sure to protect your hands and

face. Bear in mind that the flame can be difficult to see.

•  Hold the torch upright, the flame could go out if the torch is used in other positions.
•  Allow the torch to cool completely before refuelling it.
•  The torch must not be modified or disassembled.
•  Do not pierce the gas cylinder and do not throw it into the fire even if it is empty.
•  Light the torch with the nozzle pointing away from your face and hands.
•

Caution:

Bear in mind that in certain situations the butane flame is barely visible.

•  Do not use the torch if it is damaged.
•  Only refill the torch in a well-ventilated area, free from naked flames, sparks and other persons.

Do not smoke whilst refilling the torch.

•  Read the instructions on the gas cartridge before refilling the torch.
•  Always have a fire extinguisher close by when using the torch.
•  Never try to repair the torch.
•  Only use the torch in clean environments, away from combustible materials.
•  Do not aim the flame at any persons or flammable materials.
•  Allow the torch to cool down after use. Make sure that the torch is switched off and cool

before putting it away for storage.

•  Store the torch vertical.
•  Make sure that the safety lock returns to its original position after use.
•  Keep the torch away from grease and grime. Be careful not to drop the torch as this may

cause it to malfunction.

•

Caution:

The flame guard can be very hot after use.

•  In case of a gas leak (smell of gas), take the torch outside to a well-ventilated place where

the leak can be checked.

•  Never check a gas leak using a naked flame, only using a leak detection spray.
•  Never leave a lighted gas torch unattended.

1.  Baseplate (removable)
2.  Continuous flame switch
3.  Flame guard
4.  Flame width adjuster
5.  Ignition button
6.  Ignition button safety lock
7.  Flame length adjuster
8.  Filler valve (not in view,

on bottom of torch)

Getting started

Refilling gas

•  Check that the filler valve does not leak before refilling the torch.
•  Only use a high quality butane.
1.  Shake the gas canister a few times to warm the fuel up.
2.  Set the flame adjuster (7) to the [ − ] position.
3.  Turn the torch and the gas canister upside down and insert

the nozzle of the gas canister into the filler valve (8).

4.  Stand the torch on its base and leave it for at least 2 minutes

for the gas to stabilise before use.

Operating instructions

Igniting the torch

1.  Set the flame adjuster to the [ + ] position.

2.  Slide the safety lock (6) down until it

clicks into the bottom setting.

3.  Press the ignition button (5) to light

the gas.

•

Note:

For safety reasons, the ignition button cannot be pressed unless the safety lock is off.

•

Caution:

Never leave the torch unattended after the safety lock has been taken off.

To put the safety lock back on, the ignition button must be depressed, the safety lock
will then return to its original position.

Setting the flame

1.  Hold the ignition button down after ignition.
2.  Adjust the length of the flame by sliding the adjuster towards:

-

[ + ] to increase the length of the flame.

-

[ − ] to decrease the length of the flame.

For best results the flame should be 10−25 mm in length.

If the flame is too long it will be unstable and the torch will use more gas than necessary.

3.  The width of the flame can be adjusted by sliding the air controller (4) forwards.

If the adjuster is released it will spring back to its original position.

1.  Depress the ignition button and

slide the continuous flame switch (2)
upwards.

2.  Release the ignition button and

the flame will continue to burn.

3.  Slide the continuous flame switch down and

the flame will go out.
