Before starting disassembly/reassembly or making adjustments, be sure to disconnect the
power cord from the power outlet.
CAUTION
1.
During the maintenance work, be careful not to leave any part or screw detached or
loosened.
2.
When handling a printed-circuit board, do not use gloves etc that can cause static
electricity. Since ICs such as CPU, RAM and ROM may be destroyed by static
electricity, do not touch lead wires or windows unnecessarily.
3.
Do not put printed-circuit boards directly on the printer or floor.
4.
When disassembling or reassembling, check wires for any damage and do not stress
or force the wires.
WiFi Interface Installation Procedure
1. Turn the power switch on the printer OFF and
remove the power cord.
2. Lift the top cover and detach the media guide in
the following manner: The media is already
unloaded. First two screws on both sides and
one screw on the center are turned with a
Phillips screwdriver and removed. Then fold the
media guide and lift it out while moving it to the
left side viewed from the front of the printer.
3. To remove the L-shaped cover of the interface
box, turn with a Phillips screwdriver eight screws
to the interface box and one screw to the top
cover lock arm and take out. Now you can look at
the main printed-circuit board.
4. Remove the serial interface board.
