User’s Manual- Installation and Operation

Important Safety Information

•

Always turn off the main power when the plastic cover of the thermometer is removed.

•

Read carefully the information included in this manual before install for operation the thermometer.

•

The used power is the main power of 230Volts AC/50Hz and the installation should be done by authorized person.

•

Avoid places of high humidity for the installation.

•

Do not try to use the thermostat for other applications except those that is made to be used i.e. double or triple heating source water

stores.

•

This device is not an instrument. It must not be used in life critical applications.

Features

•

Senses and displays the temperature from -5°C to +90°C.

•

Adjustable from -5°C to +90°C.

•

Displays “Lo” and “Hi” indication when temperature reaches the lower or the upper limit.

•

Displays “Err” indication and deactivates the relay in case of remote sensor disconnect.

•

Temperature can be adjusted in steps of 1°C.

•

The accuracy is within ±2°C.

•

Memory is available in case power failure.

•

Contains light indicators for “SET”, “ON/OFF”, and “ORDER” conditions.

•

It is internally protected against lightings.

•

It is galvanically isolated.

•

Incorporates variable differential and sensed temperature trimming function (for installers only).

Installation

Install the thermometer always in an inside wall in a height of 1.2m to 1.5m from the floor in order to be easy readable.
1.  Turn OFF the power of the installation.
2.  Remove the plastic cover of the thermometer simply by pressing the two anchors in both lateral sides.
3.  Place thermometer against the wall at desired location. Make sure the wires will feed through opening on its base.
4.  Mark the position of mounting holes and drill them.
5.  Secure and align the thermometer in the wall by fixing the two screws. Do not over tighten the screws.
6.  Install the remote sensor in contact to the boiler that has to be sensed. For better result place the sensor between the metal container

and the isolation coating. It is allowed to extend the remote sensor cable by using a double wire, multi strand cable with cross
section at least 1mm

2

. Do not extend the sensor more than 25m. The remote sensor is not water resistant. Do not immerse the

sensor into the water or other liquids.

7.  Connect the appropriate wires to cable terminal strip as shown in the wiring diagram.

8.

Replace the plastic cover. Switch ON the power of the installation.

Operation

When the installation is accomplished the device operates as a digital thermometer. Press the “ON/OFF” button. A green indicator  lights
on. Repressing the same as above “ON/OFF” button the thermostat goes OFF. Adjustment of  the desired temperature when thermostat is
ON is made by pressing either the button signed with

 or

symbols. A yellow colored indicator lights on and the display shows the

desired temperature. Once the desired temperature is set up correctly the thermostat affects system in order to maintain the boiler
temperature as close as possible into the setting. When the temperature is lower than the desired the red indicator lights on and the electrical
contact is closed. When the temperature exceeds the desired point the red indicator is switched off and the electrical contact opens.
The thermostat has a factory preprogrammed differential of -3°C which is well suited for domestic water heating applications. The
temperature differential can be adjusted from –1°C to –10°C. Differential adjustments must be done exclusively from authorized personnel.
Incorrect adjustment has serious danger and may affect the correct operation as well as the stability of the system. For the same reason take
care when performing trimming to improve sensed temperature accuracy. This adjustment is also allowed to experienced installers only.
Refer to Charmeg for detailed trimming procedures.
