Troubleshooting

This chapter offers some suggestions to solve problems you might encounter. The 
potential problems are divided into the following categories.

•

Power, Hardware Connections, and LEDs

•

MAX-506 Utility

•

Internet Access

4.1  Power, Hardware Connections, and LEDs

The MAX-506 does not turn on. None of the LEDs turn on.

Make sure the MAX-506 is correctly inserted into your computer’s USB slot.

If there are other USB slots in use around the one to which the MAX-506 is 
connected, they may be preventing it from seating properly in the slot. Use a USB 
extension cable to connect the MAX-506 to your computer.

If the problem continues, contact the vendor.

The LED does not behave as expected.

Make sure you understand the behavior of the LED. See 

Section 1.1.2 on page 12

Check the hardware connections. See the Quick Start Guide.

Take out and re-insert the MAX-506 into your computer’s USB slot.
