10.10. Changing variator belt
Removing old belt / preparing vari-
ator for new belt
1. Release chain tension at the variator ad-
justment and remove chain (Fig. 10.12).
2. Disconnect the two connectors (Fig.
10.13) and remove the cable ties.
3. Remove support bridge (Fig. 10.14).
4. Turn adjusting unit clockwise until the
belt is in full contact with the pulley hub
(Fig. 10.15). If it is not possible to turn the
adjusting unit by hand, a wrench can be
used.
Attention:
Use wrench with care,
the plastic sleeve could be irreparably
damaged.
5. Clean bolts holes in the lower variator pul-
ley using compressed air.
6. Screw release bolts into the holes (Fig.
10.16) (Release bolts are included in the
tool kit).
7. Tighten bolts evenly until an even resist-
ance can be felt.
Attention:
Immediately
stop turning on feeling resistance so that
the thread is not damaged.
8. Remove belt over lower variator pulley
Fitting the new belt
9. Fit belt to upper variator pulley and
