BPS12 Hardware Manual
5.3.1.2
Cables
The number of cables required to complete installation depend on the number of systems
powered by the BPS12, or the number of BPS12 devices that you are cascading. Figure 5-2 lists the
cables that you may require for the MX250.
Warning
Using cables that are not supplied by Zultys will void your warranty.
5.3.2
Equipment Rack
Zultys recommends that you install the BPS12 in the same secured wiring closet as that of the
networking equipment to which it connects. Devices that connect to the BPS12 are likely to be the
MX250, MX1200, the LAN switch, and other BSP-12s.
All connections to the BPS12 are made at the rear side of the system. Leave space at the rear of the
system for cables and for personnel installing the system.

Warning
The BPS12 must be properly grounded (earthed). When the equipment is mounted
in an equipment rack, the rack must be connected to ground (earth). See section
5.2.1.1 on page 22 for details on the proper grounding technique.
Warning
Ensure that the rack is properly mounted to the floor or has properly fitted
stabilizers so that it cannot move and will not tip over. If the rack tips over, it may
cause you bodily injury and may damage the equipment.

1. The term “rear side” refer to the side with connectors and the term “front side” refers to the side without connectors.
The side with connectors are displayed behind the equipment rack, therefore Zultys uses “rear side” to describe the side
with the connectors. See Figure 4-1 on page 15 for a view of the rear side.
