
7. Upgrading the Broadband Firewall Router
Overview
As new firmware for the Broadband Firewall Router is released in the future, you can upgrade
your Broadband Firewall Router. The upgrade procedure will use the DOS-based TFTP
program on Windows NT/2000/XP. For Windows 95/98/Me and NT/2000/XP, we provide user
upgrade firmware via your browser.
Upgrading the Router in Windows NT/2000/XP (using TCP/IP)
1. Ensure that upgrade BIN file is located in your current working directory.
2. At the NT/2000/XP’s DOS prompt, type “
tftp –i <the Firewall router’s IP address>
put <upgrade filename>
”.
3. Wait for the “
transfer successful
” message.
4. The upgrade is now completed.
Upgrading the Router in Windows 95/98/Me & NT/2000/XP (using Browser)
1. Type the default IP address (192.168.1.1) in the
Location box
and press
Enter
.
2. The
authentication dialog
for the Broadband Firewall Router then appears. Type the
default administration user name,
admin
, and type the default configuration password
0000
and click the
OK
button as shown in following figure.
3. Click
Basic Settings
in the top column. Then click
Tool
.
4. Select “
Firmware Upgrade
”.
