INSTALLATION
Before installing an equipment, the user should ensure that the conditions in which it will
operate are suitable. The operating conditions of the equipment are indicated in the
section 1.2,
3.1
MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The MAS-2 equ
ipment consists of a 19” shelf that is one standard unit (s.u.) in height,
prepared for rack mounting. The shelf features two endplate angles for fixing the shelf to the
frame of a cabinet. These endplate angles are located on each side of the shelf and are at
the same level as the front plate. As a guide to the mechanical installation, a drawing at the
end of the manual shows the general dimensions of the shelf.
The general power-supply switch is found at the back of the shelf. The external connection,
by means of terminals and connectors, is carried out from the rear of the equipment.
3.2
EXTRACTING AND INSERTING THE MODULE
The MAFP module is fastened to the shelf by means of two quarter-turn fasteners located at
the left and right of the front plate. Figure 14 shows the correct position of the fasteners in
order to secure the module to the shelf or to release it.

There are two extractors on the front plate of the MAFP module. Once the two front-plate
quarter-turn fasteners are in the unlocked module position, the module can be removed by
holding the extractors and pulling outwardly.
