Assembly
Unpacking
Remove the crate and check the compressor for damage, defect/missing parts etc.. In case of
damage through transport or a defect part, immediately contact your Zionair retailer.
Placement/installation of the compressor
When placing/installing the compressor, always
keep into account the following things:
1.
Make sure there is enough free space
around the compressor because of suction
of air, cooling and it is also easier when
carrying out maintenance/repair jobs.
2.
Place the machine on a solid, level and
clean surface.
3.
The place of installation has to be well-
vented, well-lit and dry.
4.
Never use the compressor in the vicinity of
explosive/inflammable substances and/or
gases.
5.
Keep the place where the compressor is installed clean. Moist, dust and dirt have a negative
influence on both the efficiency and lifetime of the compressor.
Preparing for use
Removing transport bolts
PAY ATTENTION! In case the transport bolts are not removed before putting the compressor into
service, this causes serious damage to the machine, this is not covered by warranty!
The frame on which the electromotor and pump are mounted, is on vibration absorbers. For
transport these are fixed in the middle of the frame on front- and backside with transport bolts,
these are to be removed before putting the compressor into use.
Connecting the power cable and plug
PAY ATTENTION! Only use a power cable with a minimum wire thickness of 2.5mm² with a 5-pole
16A plug (for the 2.2kW en 3kW) or 32A plug (for the 4kW, 5.5kW en 7.5kW).
1.
Open the cover on the bottom-right of the front of the compressor (1, fig.1).
2.
Loosen the cable gland on the right side of the machine and put the cable through.
3.
Remove the rubber (1, fig.2) in the bottom of the cabinet and pull the cable through.
4.
Cut a little cross in the rubber, than place it over the cable back into the hole.
5.
Now squeeze the cable lugs (fig.3) onto the stripped cable ends of the three phase wires and
earth wire. Use the correct size cable lugs and an electrician’s pliers, check if all cable lugs are
firmly mounted before connecting the cable.
PAY ATTENTION! With a 5-wire power cable,
do not use the 0-wire (blue)!
