c)
Maintain the position of the cutting torch, and pull the
triggercontinuously at the same time. When the spark
scatters from the bottom of the workpiece, it indicates
that the arc has penetrated through the metal.
d)
After perforation is completed, pull the torch nozzle
slightly along the surface of the workpiece to continue
cutting.
Common failures in handheld cutting
The cutting torch cracks and hisses, but it cannot produce arc. This may be caused by:
a)
The wearing parts are installed too tightly. Unscrew the wearing parts for 1/8 circle, and try
it again. Wearing parts can only be screwed or unscrewed by hand.
The workpiece is not cut fully. This may be caused by:
a)
The cutting speed is too high.
b)
The wearing parts of the torch are worn.
c)
The workpiece is too thick.
d)
The workpiece is not correctly clamped with the work clamp.
e)
The gas pressure or the gas flow is too low.
The cutting quality is poor. This may be caused by:
a)
The workpiece is too thick.
b)
The wearing parts used are inappropriate. (E.g. The wearing parts installed are not original.)
c)
The cutting torch moves too fast or too slow.
The arc cracks and the lifespan of the wearing parts are shortened. This may be caused by:
a)
There is water in the gas supply circuit.
b)
The gas pressure is too low.
3.7 Automatic cutting of the cutting torch
Since I-PLAS60 can be used together with a variety of equipment such as cutting bed, grooving
machine and pipe cutter, you need to refer to the relevant manufacturer’s equipment
instructions to understand how to operate the cutting torch according to your configuration. The
information below helps you to optimize the cutting quality and extend the service life of
wearing parts.
To ensure the correct installation of cutting torch and cutting bed
Use a square to ensure that the cutting torch is perpendicular to the workpiece.
The cutting torch will travel more smoothly after cleaning, checking and adjusting the track
and driving system of the cutting bed. If the machine runs unstably, there will be regular
