SAFETY

14

10.3  Training and Qualification of Personnel

The machine may only be used, maintained, and serviced by personnel that is acquainted with the machine and instructed re-
garding the respectively connected hazards. The respective scope of the responsibilities and the responsibility as such, as well
as the monitoring of the same must be clearly defined by the user. Should the accordingly required knowledge not be existent,
the personnel must be briefed and instructed. The user (operating company) is furthermore obliged to ensure that the content of
the operating instructions have been fully understood by the personnel. Any maintenance, respectively service work which is not
depicted in the operating instructions, may only be performed by accordingly qualified special workshops.

10.4  Hazards in the Event of Non-Compliance with Safety Instructions

The non-compliance with the safety instructions can lead both to risks for persons, as well as risks for the machine and the envi-
ronment. The non-compliance with the safety instructions can also lead to the loss of any claims for damages.
In detail, the non-compliance can for example result in the following hazards.
•

The endangering of persons due to unsecured working areas

•

The malfunction of important functions of the machine

•

The ineffectiveness of methods for the maintenance and service of the machine

•

The endangering of persons through mechanical and chemical exposure.

•

Hazards to the environment due to the leakage of hydraulic oil

10.5  Safety-conscious Working

The safety instructions depicted in these operating instructions, the respectively relevant regulations regarding the accident pre-
vention, as well as possibly existent internal provisions regarding the work, the operation, and the safety, must be complied with.
The occupational safety and accident prevention regulations of the relevant authorities are binding.
The safety instructions of the vehicle manufacturer must be complied with.
When moving on public roads, comply with the respective traffic regulations.
Be prepared for emergencies. For this purpose, have a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher in the close vicinity. Have the phone
number for medical help and the fire brigade ready at hand.

10.6  Safety and Accident Prevention Regulations

Next  to  the  instructions contained  in the  operating  instructions,  also  comply  with  the  generally  valid safety  and  accident
prevention regulations!

The mounted warning and notice shields contain important information for the safe operation the compliance with which
serves your safety!

When using public roads, comply with the respective traffic regulations!

Before commencing with any work, first get acquainted with all operating controls and their function. Once you work, it is
too late to do so!

The clothing of the operator should fit close to the body. Avoid wearing loosely worn clothing!

To avoid the risk of fire, keep the machine clean!

Before starting up and commissioning the machine, control the surroundings (children!). Ensure for sufficient visibility!

The transport of persons during work or when transporting on the equipment is not permitted.

Properly connect/couple the machine and only fixture and secure via the specified devices!

When mounting and disassembling the properly place support devices at their respective position!

When coupling/decoupling the maize picker to or from the field chopper/harvester, be particularly careful!

Always mount the ballast weights at the respectively specified fastening points!

Comply with the permissible axle loads, total weight, and transport dimensions!

Transport equipment

– such as lighting, warning devices and possibly existent guards – check and mount the same!

Actuation devices (ropes, chains, rods etc.) and remote control devices must be passed in a manner that they can not un-
intentionally be triggered to any action in any working or transport position!

Ensure that the corn header is in the proper condition and lock the same according to the instruction of the manufacturer
before moving on public roads!

Never leave the cabin while you are driving!

Always drive at speeds that accord to the conditions at hand! When moving up or down the hill, and when moving cross-
wise to a slope, avoid sudden turns!

Driving characteristics

– the steering and the braking are influenced by the attached devices and the ballast weights! Al-

ways ensure for sufficient steering and braking function!

When performing curves, consider the wide protrusion and/or the inertia of the device!

Only operate the corn header if all protective devices are mounted and are in protective position!

Maintain the safety installations in proper condition! Replace missing or faulty parts!

It is prohibited to reside in the working area!

Do not reside within the turning and pivoting range of the device!

The hydraulic foldable frames may only be actuated, if there are no persons within the pivoting range!

Beware of squashing and shearing points at externally actuated (e.g. hydraulically actuated) parts!

Before exiting the field chopper, respectively the harvester, set the corn header down on to the ground, actuate the park-
ing brake, shut down the motor, and remove the ignition key!

No person may enter the clearance between the field chopper/harvester and the corn header as long as the vehicle is not
secured against rolling away via the brake and wheel chocks!

Observe all further notices regarding the safety contained in the operating instructions of the field chopper/harvester!
