Safety requirements

Please read this manual since it contains important information on the safety, use and maintenance of your appliance.
Keep
in
a
safe
place
for
future
reference.
Any use not conforming to safety requirements will absolve Zepter International of all responsibility.
• After removing the packaging make sure the appliance is undamaged and that no parts are missing.
If in doubt, do not use and contact your ZESPRESSO® CAFé agent.
• Do not leave parts of packaging (plastic bags, foam polystyrene, nails, etc) within reach of children or unqualified persons
since they are potential sources of danger.
• If the appliance comes with an earth plug, the electrical safety is ensured only when this plug is correctly connected to an effective earthing
system in compliance with existing electrical safety standards. Zepter International shall not be held responsible for any damage caused by the
lack of an earthing system.
• Before connecting the plug to the power outlet make sure the operating voltage of the appliance corresponds to the voltage of your mains supply.
If in doubt, contact a qualified technician.
• Do not use adaptors, multiple plugs and extension leads. If necessary, only use devices that conform to current safety standards making sure they
are compatible with your mains power and with the technical data of the appliance.
• Any installation not conforming to the above instructions may compromise the safety of the appliance and cancel the guarantee.
• The appliance was designed exclusively for domestic purposes to prepare espresso coffee with ZESPRESSO® CAFé capsules.
FOR SAFETY REASONS:
• Do not use the appliance with bare feet and with wet hands or feet.
• Do not use the appliance outside the home.
• Do not leave the appliance exposed to atmospheric agents (sun, rain etc.).
• Do not let children or unqualified people use the appliance.
• Never pull on the power cord or on the appliance itself to disconnect the plug from the power outlet.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged into the mains power supply.
• Never immerge the appliance in water or other liquids.
• The power cord of the appliance must not be replaced by the user. If necessary contact your ZESPRESSO® CAFé agent or a qualified technician.
• Switch off and do not tamper with the appliance should it break down and/or not function properly.
Contact your ZESPRESSO® CAFé agent for any repairs.
• Make the appliance unserviceable at the end of its running life by unplugging it from the power outlet and cutting the power cord.
• Abide by the existing standards in your country for instructions on its disposal.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock,
and/or injury to persons, including the following:
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
• Allow to cool before putting or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Do not use appliance for other than its intended use.
• For household use only.
For your safety
• Never use a machine which has been damaged or with a defective power cable.
• For information on what to do in case of damage, for example if there is a smell of burning, unplug the machine immediately from the mains sup-
ply and contact a Zepter Service Centre.
• If the power cable for this machine is damaged, it must be repaired directly by a Zepter Service Centre.
• Be careful to ensure that the power cable does not get caught and does not rub against sharp edges.
• Never open and repair the machine yourself. Do not modify the machine in any way that is not described in the ZESPRESSO® CAFé Manual.
The machine contains live parts. If opened, there is a danger of serious injury. Repairs may only be carried out by Zepter Service Centre, using
original spare parts and accessories.
Troubleshooting

There are no indicator lights
Check if the electric plug is correctly inserted into the electrical socket, that the on
button (B) has been pressed and that the corresponding red indicator light is on.
The machine makes strange noises
Check that there is water in the storage tank (L).
The indicator lights are permanently on
but no coffee comes out
The coffee distributor (E) could be blocked. To clean it follow
the instructions written in the “Cleaning” section.
Check that the capsule holder hatch (D) is properly closed.
The capsule you have inserted may be defective.
WAIT A FEW SECONDS BEFORE OPENING THE TRAY, then try with a new capsule.
There is water at the bottom of the machine
Check that the storage tank is properly placed in its holder.
There is a slight hissing sound once the
coffee has been poured out
It is not a fault but the normal settling of the pressure control valve.
