INVENTOR MOVEMENT
Oscillating at a very high frequency of 18 Hertz
(as compared to the usual 4 Hertz) and offering
a comfortable two-day power reserve, the Defy
Inventor owes its unique qualities to some state-of-
the-art technology: the Zenith one-piece oscillator,
developed and patented by the Company.
A strategic component representing the crowning
achievement of an autonomous manufacture able
to develop and produce an entire mechanical
movement, including its own regulating system.
The result of an unprecedented scientific approach
to performance, it supersedes the spring balance
used in mechanical watchmaking for three-and-a-
half centuries. This major innovation brings multiple
benefits for the industry as a whole. Increased
reliability, with this unique, ultra-thin component
(0.5 mm) replacing the thirty or so parts that make
up a standard regulating organ, thereby eliminating
contact, friction, wear and deformation. Increased
stability, thanks to the monocrystalline silicon
structure which is insensitive to temperature
fluctuations and magnetic fields. In addition, its
escapement wheel is composed of flexible strips
never before used in the watchmaking sector.
