Basic Microscope Settings
•
Connect the microscope to the computer, if desired.
•
If not yet done, install the image processing software AxioVision Rel. 4.8 or higher on the computer.
•
As described in the respective operating manual, insert one of the indicated objectives into the
objective nosepiece and keep the Immersol 518 F
®
immersion oil ready to hand.
Read in any case the Immersol 518 F
®
safety data sheet.

Mounting VivaTome
The white light source must not be switched on until after having connected the output of the
liquid light guide tightly with VivaTome and VivaTome firmly screwed to the coupling point of
the microscope.
Before mounting VivaTome to the Axio Observer side port it is necessary to screw two
supporting feet to it. See chapter 3.5.
•
Remove the dust cap (Fig. 3-1/

) from VivaTome.
•
Screw the c-mount camera adapter (Fig. 3-1/

) onto VivaTome (Fig. 3-1/
1
).
•
If necessary (if using an Axio Observer), mount the supporting feet. See chapter 3.5
•
Fasten the c-mount camera adapter (Fig. 3-1/
2
) to the microscope using a union ring.
