The laser light is introduced via an optical fiber.
The Laser TIRF imaging system includes a polarization retaining element for deflecting the laser
(Fig. 2-2/

). With the TIRF slider inserted in the beam path, the intensity of epi-fluorescence illumination
(HBO/XBO) is attenuated by 50 %.
The angle of the laser beam emerging from the objective can be changed by changing the TIRF angle.
