IMPORTANT NOTES
7.2
Compatible Blades
Only insert into the MVE-R16 blades compatible with the MVE-R16 system. At the time of this writing
the compatible function blades are BLE264-H4 (4 channels of H264 encoding with HDMI input),
BLE264-S4 (4 channels of H264 encoding with SDI input) and the BLD265-SC2 (two channels of H264 or
H265 decoding with composite and SDI output).
Please consult Z3 Technology for additional functions.
7.3
Cooling
The MVE-R16 chassis contains four fans used to bring in cool air from the front of the rack. The cool
air is forced through the function blades, which typically contain a number of heat sinks, and
expelled through the vents on the rear of the rack.
It is very important to keep the air intake path on the front of the unit unobstructed and free of
debris.
It is also important to only operate the unit with all card slots covered to maintain the integrity of
the air flow. The MVE-R16 must have its front panel completely enclosed even when less than four
slots are taken by function blades. In this case the unused slots must be enclosed using blank panel
covers, part number BLE264-FP.
7.4
Order of populating blades into the MVE-R16 chassis
Blades can be inserted in any slot without any particular order.
