RUNNING THE Z3-DM8169-4K-RPS DECODER

The Z3-DM8169-4K-RPS also supports decode. Note that, to change between encode and decode modes, a
reboot of the board is required for each mode switch. Details are listed below.

8.1

Connect the Z3-DM8169-4K-RPS

For these steps, please refer to

Figure 26

Connect the supplied 2.5mm serial cable and NULL modem adapter to your PC.

Take an HDMI 1.4 cable and connect it to HDMI Out on the Z3-DM8169-4K-RPS. Connect the other end

to a 4K2K monitor.

Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet jack on the Z3-DM8169-4K-RPS. Connect the other end of

the Ethernet cable directly to a PC or to a hub connected to the PC. You will use this PC to control
the Z3-DM8169-4K-RPS.

Take a USB 3.0 drive with the content to be decoded and connect it to USB1 (the top USB port). USB

3.0 is recommended to ensure that it is fast enough to write the encoded data.

Bring up the Web GUI

Follow steps (6) through (13) of Section 7.0 on pages 18 to 19 to bring up the Web GUI of the Z3-

DM8169-RK-RPS.
