Purpose of this document
The purpose of this document is to define the testing methods and acceptance criteria for the Z3-DM8168-
APP-41 board and the basic system operation when the Z3-DM8168-APP-41 board is paired with a Z3-
DM8168-MOD-34 processor module.

Definition of terms
This document contains references to several terms as follows:
Z3-DM8168-APP-41:
This is the application board containing two HDMI input interfaces, one HDMI output interfaces and all
the I/O connectors. The Z3-DM8168-MOD-34 CPU module plugs into this board.
Although this document refers to the board as Z3-DM8168-APP-41, the actual part number might differ.
Specifically, the “1” digit of the “-41” suffix indicates a PCB revision which is prone to change.
Z3-DM8168-MOD-34:
This is the Z3 standard module based on the DM8168 processor, without I/O jacks onboard. As with the
Z3-DM8168-APP-41, although the document refers to the module by the Z3-DM8168-MOD-34 name,
the exact part number may change.
Test terms:
The sections describing the acceptance test contain a bulleted list of actions to be performed by the tester:
Verify
: means that the tester should check to verify that the actual result is consistent with the
expectations. If the result is consistent, then the test is successful. Otherwise the test fails.
Check
: is used to ask the tester to determine the state or condition of something. The result of the check is
used to make decisions about test procedure. It does not determine pass/fail status.
Other keywords are instructing the tester to follow procedure.
