IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
1. Read all instructions before use and keep for future reference.
2. Only use the device on a flat, stable water and heat-resistant surface.
3. Make sure that your outlet voltage corresponds to the voltage stated on the rating label.
4. When using an extension cord, ensure you do not exceed its maximum rated running
wattage / load.
5. To protect against fire, electrical shock and injury do not immerse cord, plug or unit in
water
or other liquids.
6. This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or those, who lack experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and understand the hazards involved. It is imperative that children do not play
with this device. Cleaning
and maintenance should not be done by children without proper supervision.
7. Exercise caution especially when the device is used near or by children.
8. Keep the device and its power cord away from children under 8 years old.
9. Keep the device away from sources of humidity, heat or direct sunlight.
10. Do not use the iron around sources of water such as bathtubs, showers, washbasins,
swimming pools etc.
11. Do not allow the power cord to hang off the edge of the table or to touch hot surfaces,
the casing and soleplate.
12. Exercise caution while handling the unit. Hot soleplate, parts of the casing, water and
steam may cause serious burns.
13. Do not hold the iron upside down to avoid accidental pouring of water from the reservoir.
14. Do not pour distilled water into the reservoir. Use mains water. If your mains water is
very hard, use a 50/50 solution of distilled and mains water.
15. Do not add fragrance oils, descaler or other liquids to water in the reservoir. Do not
allow foreign bodies in the water reservoir.
16. Before carrying or cleaning, turn the device off, unplug it and wait for it to cool down
completely.
17. Do not use the device if its power cord or plug is damaged, or in case of any other
malfunction.
18. If the power cord is damaged, it must be repaired by manufacturer service or a qualified
technician
to avoid harm.
19. Turn the device off before unplugging. Always unplug the device after finishing work and
before refilling or emptying the water reservoir.
20. Do not hold the power plug with wet hands, as it might cause electrical shock.
21. While unplugging, hold by the plug, not the cord.
22. Do not use the device with wet hands or barefoot.
23. Some smoke may come out of the unit during first use and an unpleasant smell may
appear.
