Function Modules
This section describes the built-in functionality of the CPU Module.
3.2.1
Self Configuration
Self configuration is a feature that automatically recognizes all the Optional Modules that are
installed in the Machine Controller and all the slave devices that are connected via the MECHA-
TROLINK connector (such as Servo Drives), and creates the module configuration definition
files based on that information. Self configuration greatly reduces the steps that are required to
set up the system. Use the DIP switch on the CPU Module or use the MPE720 to execute self
configuration.
