GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SAFETY WHILE REFUELLING
1.
FUEL OUTDOORS.
Fill fuel tank outdoors – never indoors. Fuel vapours can
ignite if they collect inside an enclosure. Explosion can result.
2.
USE APPROVED CONTAINER.
Never pump fuel directly into fuel tank at
service station. Static charge can build and ignite fuel. Use an approved fuel
container to transfer fuel to the engine.
3.
RUNNING / HOT ENGINE.
A running engine is hot enough to ignite fuel. Never
add fuel or remove fuel cap if engine is running or still hot. Stop the engine and
allow it to cool, at least five minutes before adding fuel.
4.
HEAT / FLAMES / SPARKS.
Stay away from sources of heat, flame, or sparks
while adding fuel. Fuel vapour is easily ignited.
5.
DO NOT OVERFILL THE FUEL TANK.
Only fill with fuel to the top of the fuel
strainer. The fuel cap has a small ventilation hole in it to prevent fuel lock. If
The
fuel tank is over filled it may lead to a spillage from the fuel cap when the
engine
is started.
6.
REPLACE CAP.
Replace fuel cap securely before starting engine.
7.
SPILLS.
Clean up fuel spills immediately. Move pressure washer away from
spilled fuel on the ground. Wipe fuel o
ff e
ngine and wait 5 minutes for excess
fuel to evaporate before starting engine. Fuel soaked rags should be disposed
of properly.
8.
FUEL ON SKIN / CLOTHES.
Fuel may irritate skin and is also a fire hazard.
If fuel is spilled on your skin or clothes, change clothes and wash skin
immediately.
9.
FUEL STORAGE.
Store fuel in a cool, dry place in an approved, tightly sealed
container.
10.
MOVE AWAY FROM FUELLING SITE BEFORE STARTING TOOL.
Don’t
smoke while refuelling.
SAFETY IN OPERATION
1.
DO NOT USE IN CONFINED SPACES OR AREAS WITH POOR
VENTILATION.
When running, the engine gives OFF carbon monoxide gas which is toxic.
Carbon monoxide poisoning can kill. If the operator or people nearby feel sick,
dizzy, or weak while the pressure washer is running, turn OFF the pressure
washer if possible, and immediately move everybody away into the fresh air.
Seek medical attention!
2.
INSPECT AND PREPARE PRESSURE WASHER BEFORE EACH USE AS
DIRECTED IN THIS MANUAL.
3.
DO NOT USE FOR SPRAYING FLAMMABLE OR CORROSIVE CHEMICALS
IN THE PRESSURE WASHER.
This can lead to dangerous situations and/or
damage to the pressure washer.
