3. Pour the engine coolant
slowly
into the radiator
until it is even with the lip of the engine coolant
filler port. Make sure that air bubbles do not
develop as you fill the radiator. As the coolant
enters the radiator, squeeze the radiator hose
(Figure 6, (4))
to help remove air from the
cooling system.
4. Fasten the radiator cap
(Figure 6, (1))
. Align
the tabs on the back side of the radiator cap
with the notches on the engine coolant filler
port. Press down and turn the cap clockwise
about 90 degrees.
5. Remove the cap
(Figure 6, (3))
of the reserve
tank
(Figure 6, (6))
, and fill it to the LOW
(COLD) mark
(Figure 6, (7))
with engine
coolant. Reinstall the cap.
6. Check the hose
(Figure 6, (2))
that connects
the reserve tank
(Figure 6, (6))
to the radiator.
Be sure it is securely connected and there are
no cracks or damage. If the hose is damaged,
engine coolant will leak out instead of going into
the reserve tank.
7. Run the engine until it is at operating
temperature. Check the level of engine coolant
in the reserve tank. When the engine is running
and the engine coolant is at normal
temperature, the coolant level in the tank should
be at the FULL (HOT) mark
(Figure 6, (5))
.
If
the engine coolant is not at the FULL (HOT)
mark
(Figure 6, (5))
, add additional engine
coolant to the reserve tank to bring the level to
the FULL (HOT) mark.
Daily Check of the Cooling System
1. Check the level of engine coolant in the reserve
tank. When the engine is cold, the level in the
tank should be at the LOW (COLD) mark
(Figure 7, (1))
.
Figure 7
2. Add additional engine coolant to the reserve
tank if necessary.
3. Check the radiator hoses
(Figure 7, (2))
for
cracks, abrasions, cuts or other damage.
Replace as necessary.
Engine Coolant Capacity
The following are typical engine coolant capacities
for 2V750V engine.
Note: Capacities listed are for the engine only
without a radiator. Refer to the operation
manual provided by the driven machine
manufacturer for the total cooling system
capacity of your specific machine.
Engine Model
Engine Coolant Capacity
2V750V
2.75 qt (2.6 L) Radiator
0.32 qt (0.3 L) Reserve Tank
