CAUTION:
Tester’s positive (+) lead
Terminal 4
Tester’s negative (–) lead
Terminal 5
If tester reading is “
∞
”.
Replace the fail-safe
relay.
When connecting the relay and battery termi-
nals, be careful not to short-circuit the bat-
tery’s positive (+) and negative (–) terminals.
2. Check:
Continuity of motor relay
Connect the pocket tester (
Ω
1) to motor
relay terminals.
First, check the continuity between the motor
relay terminal 1 and 6 .
Tester’s positive (+) lead
Terminal 1
Tester’s negative (–) lead
Terminal 6
If tester reading is “
∞
”.
Replace the fail-safe
relay.
If the 1 and 6 of tester leads are connected
reverse, it makes the good or bad detection
impossible. Do not mistake.
Connect the battery positive (+) terminal to the
terminal 6 , negative (–) terminal to the terminal
1 and check the continuity between motor relay
terminals 2 and 5 .
Tester’s positive (+) lead
Terminal 2
Tester’s negative (–) lead
Terminal 5
If tester reading is “
∞
”.
Replace the fail-safe
relay.
If the connection of positive (+), negative (–)
is mistaken, the diode will be broken. Con-
nect it correctly.
When connecting the battery and relay, be
careful not to short-circuit the battery’s posi-
tive (+) and negative (–) terminals.
