Throttle override system (T.O.R.S.)
Check the T.O.R.S. for proper operation.

When checking T.O.R.S.:
●
Make sure that the parking brake is applied.
●
Make sure that the throttle lever moves smoothly.
●
Do not run the engine up to clutch engagement
r/min. Otherwise, the snowmobile could start
moving forward unexpectedly, which could cause
an accident.

1. Start the engine.

Refer to the “Starting the engine” section.

2. Hold the pivot point of the throttle lever away from the
throttle switch by putting your thumb (above) and
forefinger (below) between the throttle lever pivot

and the engine stop switch housing

While holding the pivot point as described above,
press the throttle lever

gradually.
The T.O.R.S. will be activated and the engine speed
will be limited to less than the clutch engagement
speed. (See page 11-2 for the clutch engagement
speed.)
WARNING

If the engine speed does not decrease to less than
the clutch engagement speed, stop the engine by
turning the main switch to the off position and con-
sult a Yamaha dealer. Operating the snowmobile with
a malfunctioning T.O.R.S. could result in loss of con-
trol.
