BRAKE PAD INSPECTION
1. Operate the brake lever.
2. Inspect:
Brake pad (front)
Wear indicators
1 almost touch the brake
disc Replace the brake pads as a set.
Refer to “FRONT BRAKE” in CHAPTER 6.

BRAKE SHOE INSPECTION
1. Operate the brake pedal.
2. Inspect:
Brake shoes
Wear indicator
1 reaches the wear limit line
2 Replace the brake shoes as a set.
Refer to “REAR WHEEL” in CHAPTER 6.

BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
The brake light switch is operated by move-
ment of the brake pedal.
Adjustment is correct when the brake light
comes on just before the braking effect actual-
ly starts.
1. Check:
Brake light operation timing
Incorrect Adjust.
2. Adjust:
Brake light operating timing
Adjustment steps:
Hold the main body 1 of the switch with your
hand so that it does not rotate, and turn the ad-
juster
2 in or out until the proper operation
timing is obtained.
Turning in Brake light comes on fast.
Turning out Brake light comes on slows.
