To increase the spring preload and thereby
harden the suspension, turn the adjusting ring
in direction (a). To decrease the spring pre-
load and thereby soften the suspension, turn
the adjusting ring in direction (b).
TIP
The spring preload can be further adjusted by
changing the position of the spring seat.
Have a Yamaha dealer make this adjustment
as it requires special tools.

Adjusting the rebound damping force
of the rear shock absorber

Do not turn the remote adjusting dial while
the snowmobile is moving as this could
cause loss of control, an accident, and in-
jury.

Be sure to stop the remote adjusting dial
at a marked position around the dial where
there is a click.
The rebound damping force can be adjusted
by turning the rear shock absorber damping
force remote adjusting dial.
To increase the rebound damping force, turn
the adjusting dial in direction (a). To decrease
the rebound damping force, turn the adjusting
dial in direction (b).

Adjusting the control rod
The weight transfer can be adjusted by turn-
ing the adjuster on the control rod.

Check the control rod length using the
scale on the special wrench as shown.
