4-3 Keyboard Measurement
1. Keyboard Measurement for all except PRO models
Purpose
Eliminates disparities among different pianos and among different keys on each piano. Generates custom-
ized playback tables and stores these into the PK-CTL sheet.
Work Flow
1. Measure the piano’s current state.
Apply different levels of drive current to the key solenoids while measuring the main keyboard parame-
ters: hammer velocity (as measured by hammer sensors), key-off timing (as measured by key sensors)
etc.
2. Generate the playback tables for the piano.
Correlate the measurement results with the available tables for the various parameters (velocity/current
tables, etc.), and select the best tables for each key. Also check and record minimum playback pressure
for each key.
3. Save the tables into memory.
Store the results into the PK-CTL sheet.
Operation
Enter maintenance mode: Hold down [
] and [
] and switch on the power.

to start measurement
For ONE KEY MEASURE:
Use the dial or the
[+/YES]

button to select the key number, and

to start measurement.
Measurement Phases
Measure drive-current phases (01 to 05) for each of the pedal phases.
Calculation
Calculation starts when measurement is finished. The program beeps when calculation is completed.

Repeat PHS=01 measurement several times. Measure the other steps
