1. Introduction
This guide explains how to build an audio monitoring system using Yamaha MMP1, a studio
monitor management system, and how to install and configure each required/related
equipment and software.
The system can contain many elements including peripheral equipment such as powered
speakers, microphones for talkback, mic preamps, headphone amps, cough boxes, VU
meters, GPI devices, as well as computer system such as PC/Mac, iPad, network switches
and software such as DAW, configuration software, controller app and so on, which requires
experience and accumulated knowledge.
This guide will walk you step-by-step through installing each piece of primary equipment,
connecting them via various types of cabled needed, installing software, apps and all the
aspects of setup that need to be handled before the system can be used.
This guide will not explain how to operate each equipment and, for how to operate them,
please refer to the operation manuals.
