BREAKING IN (RUNNING IN)
ENGINE
Your new engine requires a period of
break-in (running-in) to allow mating sur-
faces of moving parts to wear-in evenly.
Correct break-in (running-in) will help
ensure proper performance and longer
engine life.

Failure to follow the break-in (running-
in) procedure may result in reduced
engine life or even severe engine dam-
age.

Do not use pre-mixed fuel in this
engine as it may cause carbon deposits
on the fuel injector thereby causing
engine trouble.

Follow the instructions for breaking-
in/running-in carefully.
NOTE:
The label pictured at left is to be left on
the top cowling until the break-in (run-
ning-in) procedure has been completed
and may be removed afterwards.
Break-in (running-in) time: 10 hours

Run the engine under load (in gear with a
propeller installed) as follows.
1)
First 10 minutes:
Run the engine at the lowest possi-
ble-speed. A fast idle in neutral is
best.
