Engine
●
Check the engine and engine mounting.
●
Look for loose or damaged fasteners.
●
Check the propeller for damage.
●
Check for oil leaks.

Flushing device
Check that flushing device’s garden hose
connector is securely screwed on to the fitting
on the bottom cowling.
NOTICE:
If the flush-
ing device is not properly connected, cool-
ing water can leak out and the engine can
overheat during operation.

Install cowling
1.
Be sure that all cowling lock levers are re-
leased.
2.
Be sure that the rubber seal is seated all
the way around the engine.
3.
Place the cowling on top of the seal.
4.
Check to be sure the rubber seal fits cor-
rectly all the way around the engine.
5.
Move the levers to lock the cowling as
shown.
NOTICE:
If the cowling is not
installed correctly, water spray under
the cowling can damage the engine, or
the cowling can blow off at high
speeds.

After installing, check the fitting of the top
cowling by pushing it with both hands. If the
top cowling is loose, have it repaired by your
Yamaha dealer.
