GENERATOR SYSTEM

11. Rotor remagnetization

Disconnect the exciter field coil coupler

(Black–White) at the end of the genera-
tor unit.

Start the engine (with no load).

Connect the DC 12 V battery to the sta-

tor side of the exciter field coil coupler,
battery

to coupler terminal (Black),

and battery

to coupler terminal

(White), for 2–5 seconds.

Remove the battery and reconnect the

exciter field coil coupler.

Recheck the main coil AC output voltage.

OUT OF

SPECIFICATION

Proceed to step 12.

MEETS

SPECIFICATION

No further action necessary.

NOTICE

Do not connect the battery for more than a
few seconds. This may deteriorate the bat-
tery.
