SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

!

Like all machines, golf cars can
cause injury if improperly used or
maintained.

Experience has shown that golf cars
are safe when operated in accor-
dance with the safety warnings
affixed to every golf car.

DRIVER
QUALIFICATIONS

Allow only authorized people to
operate golf car. It is recommended
that only people who possess a
valid motor vehicle driver’s license
be allowed to operate golf car.

Do not operate golf cars when
under the influence of alcohol or
drugs. Death or serious personal
injury can result from failing to
comply with the safety and
warning instructions affixed to the
golf car.

HAZARD PREVENTION

Drivers should be mindful of road
hazards, and avoid dangerous situa-
tions that may include the following:

Steep Grades

– Where steep

grades exist, restrict golf car to
designated roadway or path, and
descend slowly with foot on the
brake.

Descend steep grades slowly with
foot on brake. Death or serious
personal injury can result from
failing to comply with the safety
and warning instructions affixed to
the golf car.

Sharp Turns, Blind Corners and
Bridge Approaches

– Adhere to all

warning signs and take proper pre-
cautions to avoid the hazard.

Wet Areas

– Wet grass may cause

a golf car to lose traction and may
affect stability. Vehicle operators
should reduce speed in wet areas or
during periods of inclement weather.
