ALIGNMENT -14
ALC Meter Adjustment
Connect the 50-Ohm Dummy Load and Watt
-
meter to the ANT jack.
Press and hold in the [STEP/MCH], [C.S] and
[FINE] keys, while turning the radio ON, to en
-
ter the alignment mode.
Set the frequency to 14.200 MHz in the CW-U
mode.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “3-083 100W TXG 14”.
Rotate the [MPVD] ring so that the
parameter
indication
“255”.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “3-081 100W FALC 14”.
Rotate the [MPVD] ring so that the
parameter
indication
“0”.
Key the transmitter
, then rotate the [MPVD]
ring for 100 W (+5W/–0W) on the Wattmeter.
Unkey the transmitter
.
Set the USB mode.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “3-194 ALC MTR”.
Set the MIC GAIN to “50”.
Connect the Audio
Generator to pin 5 of
the MIC jack (pin 4:
GND) @1 kHz.
Press and hold the PTT button, then adjust the
Audio Generator output level for 90W - 95W on
the Wattmeter.
Release the PTT button.
Increase the Audio Generator output level by
“9 dB”.
Press the PTT button, then press the [FUNC]
knob
while pressing and holding in the PTT
button.

hile pressing and holding in the PTT button
,
then rotate the [MPVD] ring for maximum de
-
flection on the ALC meter zone.
Release the PTT button, then Press and hold in
the [FUNC] knob to save the new setting and
exit the alignment mode.

mode.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “3-021 100W FALC 1.8”.
Press and hold the PTT button, then rotate the
[MPVD] ring for 101 W (+5W/–1W) on the Watt
-
meter.
Release the PTT button.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “3-022 100W MTR 1.8”.
Press and hold the PTT button, then rotate the
[MPVD] ring for 100 W on the PO meter.
Release the PTT button.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “3-023 100W TXG 1.8”.
Press and hold the PTT button, then rotate the
[MPVD] ring for maximum deflection on the
ALC meter zone.
Release the PTT button.
Perform the same procedures for the Align
-
ment parameter “3-024 50W FALC 1.8” through
“3-035 5W TXG 1.8” as indicated by the chart
on the next page.
Perform the same procedures for the Alignment
parameter “3-036 100W FALC 3.5” through
“3-170 5W TXG 50” (UK version: “3-182 5W
TXG 70”) as indicated by the chart on the next
page.
Press and hold in the [FUNC] knob to save the
new setting and exit the alignment mode.
