ALC Meter Adjustment
Connect the 50-Ohm Dummy Load and Watt
-
meter to t
he ANT jack.
Set the following controls as indicated:
MIC GAIN: 50
AMC: 100
Press and hold in the [BAND], [QMB] and
[NAR] keys, while turning the radio ON, to en
-
ter the alignment mode.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “130 [TX] 100W FALC 14”.
Key the transmitter, then rotate the [STEP/MCH
(DSP)] knob for 100W (+5W/–0W) on the Watt
-
meter.
Unkey the transmitt
er.
Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the alignment
parameter “246 [TX] ALC MTR”.
Connect the Audio Generator to pin 5 of the
MIC jack (pin 4: GND).

Set the Audio Generator to 20mVrms @1kHz.
Press and hold the PTT switch, then adjust the
Audio Generator output level for 90W - 95W on
the Wattmeter.
Release the PTT switch.
Increase the Audio Generator output level by
“9dB”.
Press the PTT switch, then press the [STEP/
MCH (DSP)] knob
while pressing and holding
in the PTT switch.
Release the PTT switch.
Press and hold in the [FUNC] knob to save the
new setting.

TXG Adjustment
Connect the 50-Ohm Dummy Load and Watt
-
meter to the ANT jack.
Press and hold in the [BAND], [QMB] and
[NAR] keys, while turning the radio ON, to en
-
ter the alignment mode.
1. Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the align
-
ment parameter “072 [TX] 100W TXG 1.8”.
2. Rotate the [STEP/MCH (DSP)] knob so that
the parameter indication “200”.
3. Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the align
-
ment parameter “070 [TX] 100W FALC 1.8”.
4. Press and hold the PTT switch, then rotate
the [STEP/MCH (DSP)] knob for 101W
(+5W/–1W) on the Wattmeter.
5. Release the PTT switch.
6. Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the align
-
ment parameter “071 [TX] 100W MTR 1.8”.

Press and hold the PTT switch, then press the
[STEP/MCH (DSP)] knob
.
8. Release the PTT switch.
9. Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the align
-
ment parameter “072 [TX] 100W TXG 1.8”.
10. Press and hold the PTT switch, then rotate
the [STEP/MCH (DSP)] knob for maximum
deflection on the ALC meter zone.
11. Release the PTT switch.
Perform the same procedures for the Alignment
parameter “073 [TX] 50W FALC 1.8” through
“084 [TX] 5W TXG 1.8” as indicated by the
chart on the next page.
Perform the same procedures for the Alignment
parameter “085 [TX] 100W FALC 3.5” through
“219 [TX] 5W TXG 50” (UK version: “234 [TX]
5W TXG 70”) as indicated by the chart on the
next page.
Press and hold in the [FUNC] knob to save the
new setting.
