This manual contains important safety and operating instructions
for the XLT LI-ION battery and battery charger.
2.
Before using the battery pack and charger, read this manual, the drill user manual and all labels
on the battery pack, charger and drill.
3.
ONLY CHARGE XLT 18V BATTERIES IN THE XLT 18V LI-ION BATTERY CHARGER. Other types of
batteries may burst causing personal injury and damage. Do not wire a battery pack to a power
supply plug or car cigarette lighter. Batteries will be permanently disabled or damaged.
4.
Use XLT 18V LI-ION BATTERY PACKS ONLY ON THE XLT HIGH-POWERED DRILL. Battery pack and
charger are not compatible with NiCad systems. Use with other devices may result in a risk of
fire, electric shock or personal injury.
5.
AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENTS. Do not charge battery pack in rain, snow, damp or wet
conditions. Do not use battery pack or charger around easily ignitable areas (gaseous fumes,
dust or flammable materials). Sparks may be generated and may cause fire or an explosion.
6.
ONLY CHARGE IN WELL VENTILATED AREA. Do not block the charger vents. Keep them clear to
allow for proper ventilation. Do not allow smoking or open flames near a charging battery pack.
Vented gases may explode.
