General safety instructions concerning electric tools

Warning!

Read all safety warnings and instructions.

Failure to follow the safety instructions and in-

structions can result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

Keep all safety information and instructions for the future.

The term “power tool” used in

the safety instructions relates to mains-operated electric tools (with a mains cable) and battery-
operated electric tools (without a cable).

Work area safety

Always keep your working area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or insufficiently lit working areas
increase the risk of accident.

Do not operate the device in explosive environments or  near flammable substances, liquids,
gases, or dusts. The use of this device may create sparks that could potentially ignite gases or
dust.

Keep bystanders away from the working area while operating the device as distractions may
lead to a loss of control.

Electric safety

The power plug must not be modified. Do not use adapter plugs with earthed power tools.

Avoid physical contact with earthed objects and surfaces such as pipes, stoves, or refrigerators.
An earthed body increases the risk of electric shock, when working with a power tool.

Do  not  expose  the  electric  devices  to  rain  or  moisture.  Water  penetrating  an  electric  device
increases the risk of electric shock.

Do not pull at the power cord of the device and do not abuse it to lift, carry, or hold the device.
Do not expose the power cord to heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts and make sure that it
is not bent or pinched. Damaged or entangled cables greatly increase the risk of electric shock.

When using the device outside, make sure to use an appropriate extension cord suitable for
outdoor use to decrease the risk of electric shock.

If the use of the device within an environment with high moisture levels cannot be avoided, make
sure to equip it with a fault-current circuit breaker to decrease the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

Be attentive, give your full attention to what you are doing, and always work carefully and with
foresight. Do not use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence of alcohol,  drugs, or
medicine. A moment of inattention while using the power tool can result in serious injury.

Wear personal protective equipment and always protective goggles. Wearing personal protec-
tive  equipment  such  as  a  dust  mask,  non-slip  safety  shoes,  a  protective  helmet,  or  hearing
protection reduces the risk of injury depending on the type and use of the power tool.

Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure that the power tool is turned off before plugging in, pick-
ing up, or carrying. Accidents can occur if you have your finger on the switch while carrying the
power tool or if you connect the device to the power supply when it is switched on.

Remove all adjustment tools or wrenches before switching on the power tool. A tool in a rotating
part of the device can lead to injuries.

Avoid any unnatural posture. Make sure to stand securely and to always keep your balance.
This gives you better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

If a dust extractor or collector can be fitted, make sure that it is connected and used properly.
The use of an extraction system can reduce the risk of dust.

Safety of power tool use and care

Do not overload the device. Use the appropriate power tool for your work. With the right power
tool in the specified performance range, you will work better and more safely.

Do not use a power tool with a defective switch. A power tool that can no longer be switched on
or off at the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
