Calibrating the Altimeter
The Xplova G5 measures elevation using a high-resolution
barometric altimeter. The altimeter is highly sensitive to changes in
air pressure and may be affected by changing weather conditions in
addition to altitude. To ensure the accuracy of the altimeter, Xplova
recommends that you periodically calibrate the altimeter.
The best method for calibrating the altimeter is to find a nearby
survey marker that has an accurate elevation measurement engraved
or printed on it. If a survey marker is not present, you can obtain a
less accurate elevation using the GPS Information Screen (see
“Viewing GPS Info” on page 84).
To calibrate the altimeter:
1.
Find a location with a known elevation and place the Xplova G5 at
or near the location.
2.
While in bike computer mode, click
Show

General Settings
.
3.
Scroll down and click
Altimeter
.
4.
Click the Current Elevation field and type a new elevation.
5.
Click
Return
to go back to the general settings menu.
Viewing Hardware Information
The About screen in the general settings menu provides the
following information:
