What do I do if the musicm8 doesn’t find artwork for my CD?
The musicm8 has access to the worlds largest database of audio CD data, but oc
-
casionally you may find a disc that is not available. In this situation you could use
any media player to manually tag the file.

I have added a cover art image to an album folder. Why is it not show-
ing in the web audio player or my streaming device?
Not all devices support the display of artwork when it is stored as an image in the
same folder as the audio file. Most require the artwork to be embedded in the
audio file itself. To do this consider using software like

The photos/movies I just added do not show up on my UPnP streaming
device?
If you have added pictures or movies to \\musicm8\pictures or \\musicm8\video,
and they are not being displayed via your UPnP device, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Web UI (http://musicm8 or musicm8.local for Mac users). At
1.
the top of the page click Twonky.
The Twonky Media screen will appear. Click Twonky Media Settings.
2.
Under Basic Setup, click Sharing.
3.
In the Sharing screen click Rescan Content Directories. This will prompt
4.
Twonky to rescan and add all the correct media to your UPnP devices.
If this is not successful, reboot your musicm8 via the front panel or the Web UI
(The reboot option is in the ‘Miscellaneous’ drop down within the Web UI).
I inserted the memory card from my camera but no pictures were copied
to my Pictures folder. Now I see error messages.
The card reader will import pictures from SD, Micro SD , SDHC, CF, MS
and
MMC
format cards, but not XD. If you insert an XD card, you may see error messages
such as
FAT: FAT read Failed (Blocknr nnn)
(where nnn is between 100 and 400)
FAT: Directory bread(block 569) failed
FAT: unable to read inode bloc
k for updating (i_pos 21377268)
Why will the web browser audio player not play my music?
Your musicm8 will record music in WAV, MP3 and FLAC format. WAV files are un
-
compressed to give you the highest quality playback, but use the most disk space
and do not contain metadata. MP3 files are compressed to a range of different
ratios, Higher settings give better quality but use more disk space, lower settings
take less disk space, but give less good quality playback. FLAC files are lossless
and contain an exact copy of the original file; they also contain metadata making
them the best choice if your playback device supports FLAC. To change these, see
Recording Settings on page 26
of the User Guide.
